Little Hands Childcare is a safe, loving family childcare home with flexible hours to better meet your needs. I am open Monday through Friday with flexible hours.
I have a large indoor play area and a outdoor play area for when the weather is nice.
My program has changed over the years and even now is a work in progress. I am incorporating what I am learning in my classes into my childcare and through trial and error seeing for myself what works for me and how.
There are many providers to choose from in the area-why choose me? I am a small family childcare home and plan to stay that way. That means that I am limited to 8 children, including my own (until they are 10 and then they do not count in the 8 children). So there is no staff turn around here. Who you meet when you have your interview is who will be here 100% of the time. I have a schedule for the children (see the schedule page) and that will be a work in progress as I incorporate different things that I have learned from my classes (past and present) into them and see how they work for me and the children.
I have 35.5 college units, with 15 of those units in ECE and I am continuing my education by taking a combination of online and evening classes in both ECE and general education when I can fit it into my schedule. I have been in business since 2006, and recently got re-licensed in March of 2011 in a new location, my own home. I also have two children of my own (one who has autism) and I have been working with children on and off since I was in high school (my mother and sister had a licensed day care when I was in high school - I guess you could say it runs in the family!)
As I said above, I am licensed for up to 8 children, with a combination of ages and full and part time spots. I prefer full time children, but I will take part time children, if space is available, with the understanding that if another family comes into care wanting a full time spot, you will have the option of either (a) moving to the full time spot or (b) choosing other care.
I also have my Child Development Permit as an Associate Teacher, which is through the California Teaching Commission.
Feel free to contact owner, Jennifer Scritchfield if you are looking for child care. I can be reached at 530-330-0324 (which is a local cell phone number) or you can email me through the contact page above. Thanks for visiting.
